random

I haven’t blogged in a while and tonight it’s going to be a random one, but enjoy!

Randomness #1

I was diggin through my drawers for old clothing to cut up and I stumbled upon a pretty little baby doll top from around 3 years ago. I’ve only worn it a couple of times, but my boobs quickly grew out of it. I decided to cut it across the waist and make it into a shirt. Hai gurl hai!

Sorry for the myspace angles, but I’m fat, you see, it comes with the territory.

Randomness #2

I didn’t see Dark Knight as planned…

It was sold out in Imax, and why ruin it by seeing it in a regular theater?

So tomorrow, definitely, me and Eric are seeing it in Imax. Yeshha

Last week, we ended up seeing Xfiles, which was amazing! I felt bad because Eric doesn’t watch it, but he didn’t care. Sew Sweet.

I have to say, mulder was looking fine. And Scully looked gorgeous, her clothes did too.

So great, I loved it, I hope there’s another!!!!111one one one

Randomness #3

Khaki and Purple? okaiz

Anyway, Later Days.

Mix n Match

Western + Little House on the Prarie = Something I’m dying to wear.

Maria Westerland:

My interpretation:

Oh yes, I can roll with the Ingalls anyday.

I'm still alive!

I promise…annnnd

I’m going to see Dark Knight in Imax tomorrow, yesuuh.

I’ll post about life more soon. I’ll also get back to photo posts. I’ve been lacking.

But let me get this out first. LEANNE WAS ALMOST SENT HOME ON PR. Unfortunately, Wesley went home instead, but I love Leanne, she has such potential, and I’d hate to see her go this early. I’m very sad that I won’t be seeing Wesley’s little bermuda shorts though:[

And Shear Genius said goodbye to Gail…I loved her. It was either her or Charlie, and Charlie is a genius, so it was an obvious choice. It was still a dark day seeing her go! Paolo won the challenge, FINALLY. I love that man. I have a little crush on him though. Too bad he’s gay:/

Anyways, later days.

The Gleam II

It comes out today, but I can’t get it:[

But there’s a new episode of Secret Life of the American Teenager is on tonight and I might see The Dark Knight. Although it’ll be in the Dunkirk theater, and not with Alysha haha it’s ok.

P.S. I made Paella a couple of nights ago. You should all be jealous. It was mouth watering-ly delicious.

The squid was fantastic!

Unfortunately I was a little under the weather yesterday and I didn’t cook. But tomorrow I’m thinking strawberry muffins? Yes.

P.S.

I wish I dressed like this everyday.

cake mishap

[7/18/08 friday]

Today I made cake. I did other things too, like the grocery shopping. But I made cake too, which is more important than shopping for my family’s food. DOII

The first batter was really thick, like a dough. I was a little weirded out, so I checked my recipe. I forgot to add water. I’m an idiot, really. So I put the water in and it ended up being really soupy. I went to the corner store and bought some devil’s food cake mix and decided to just make that since I screwed up the dark chocolate cake, but when I got home, the dark chocolate batter looked fine. So I made both.

Here’s a devil’s food cake with chocolate fudge frosting, mixed berries and glaze, and whipped cream. So rich, so good.

The second one was topped with berries and whipped cream too, but I frosted it with vanilla frosting, except in between the two layers, I had some extra chocolate so I used that in the middle. Still, so rich, so good.

I definitely think the second one was prettier, just because I liked the contrast between the white red and blue. Yai Amurricah.

Oh lord, and for dinner I had the most delicious pizza. Gorgonzola, artichokes, olives, and mushrooms. Orgasm in my mouth. Basically. I didn’t cook it all the way though, oh well, I like when the cheese is half melted anyway.

Today I wore red and blue. If you were my mom, you would look at me and say “red and blue?” Really, any time I wear red and blue, that’s her reaction. I don’t know why she’s so set on them not matching. This critique, mind you, is coming from a woman who wears tan, taupe, and beige, every day. Like there’s a difference. To her there is, I suppose. I love her though, I just wished she dressed to show off what a hottie she is!

Right, well, I like my red/blue combos. It reminds me of a little sailor girl, or more so with this outfit, a prep school student.

Those are navy shorts, btw.

My mom’s size too small flats. They hurt, but I don’t care.

Sailor/School girl colors. Lovely? Not to my mom…haha

That’s all I have for now, Later Dayz.

midnight swim - the sequel

[7/17/08 Thursday]

Today started off super slow. It was so hot and I really just wanted to nap in front of the A/C all day long. Unfortunately, that wasn’t an option, but I swear, one day I will sleep all day long. How wonderful would that be? Oh, and I’ll wear silk pajamas and an eye mask, all the while bundling up under 3 blankets with the A/C cranked up high. Throw in Eric [or Alysha haha] to snuggle with and a marathon of Jon and Kate Plus 8…That right there, is THE perfect day.

One good thing about my morning was breakfast, instead of opting for the usual Cinnamon Toast Crunch with homemade lemonade and perhaps some wheat toast, I made a tomato/lettuce/mozzarella/wheat toast sandwich…SO GOOD!

I found these cardigans I completely forgot I had…This must be my week for rediscovering clothes I forgot I owned. One was a cropped cardigan from Delias. It was houndstooth and had a bunch of buttons, I only wore it maybe once before I had lost it at the bottom of a crate. Along with it was another cardigan from about 3 years ago. I’m wore that today, and even though I had to change three times, that cardigan was a constant. I can’t believe I never went looking for it before. It’s so weird haha I love it though.

cardigan: Delias

top[RIP]: JC Penney

shorts: Old Navy

sandals: Old Navy

Contrary to how this pictures makes it seem, this outfit makes me look really skinny…IRL, that is.

And here is when I tell you ho my heart was broken today…I got a stain on that shirt!!! :[[[

Two little pink permanent marker dots. Damnit. Nothing worked to get it out. I haven’t actually put it through the wash yet though, so we’ll see how that works out…what a tragedy.

On the bright side, I found the same shirt online for 12 dollars yeeeeey!

& then I put on a dress because I was too lazy to put on anything else…CMON it was hot!

dress: Walmart

belt: I cn’t recall!!! oh noez

And then I felt the need for another wardrobe change. Don’t ask.

Red self-dyed vneck and candy corn, of course! Hai Alysha!

There was really no point in that outfit change though, since Alysha, Joey, Julian, Cassie, Eric, and I were planning a midnight swim:] It was fun, but a little more scary than last time. It wasn’t that dark because the moon was out and really bright, so whenever a car drove by, we figured they’d see us. About 4 or 5 police cars drove by and not one stopped to get us out of the lake. Weird, considering it was so bright out…

HAHAH

Afterwards, we got sundaes [mmmmmm] and we went home.

Then, to finish off a great night, I made deviled eggs for me and Alysha haha

Delicious ending to a splendid night. Later Days!

New Season, New Favorites [*UPDATED]

I love this season of Shear Genius, maybe more than last season…but no one will ever top Tabitha, she’s such a bitch. Charlie is coming close though, I really wish I had a gay friend like him, but I think I’d be scared of him most of the time ha

My favorites:

Dee

Daniel

I like Gail and Nicole too, but I think I like them more because they dress nice, but they aren’t the best stylists I’ve seen.

Gail

Nicole

I like Paolo as a person, but he is really sort of…terrible? EEE sorry Paolo haha

I haven’t watched Project Runway yet, but I’ll probably make a post about my favorites at some point today.

UPDATE

I just watched PR:]

Well I can tell you right now, I love them all…Seriously, I have no clue who I’m going to be rooting for just yet, but that’s usually how every season starts for me.

I love Kenley’s Style,

and her dress was gorgeous too.

But we’ll have to see in the next episodes who I really lean toward.

I didn’t lke Leanne’s dress so smuch, but I just find her absolutely gorgeous.

Hopefully her design wil be better next week, so I can base my love for her on her talent, not her face haha

Kudos...

to you, alarm clock, for not going off. Again.

Balenciaga Inspired

I went with the floral idea and the structure of the tulip skirt imitates Balenciaga’s structures pretty well! I even threw in some gladiators:]

The beautiful Jennifer Connelley…who, I must admit, I’m very jealous of. She’s married to Paul Bettany…lucky.

My First Time...

[06/16/08]

Parallel parking, that is. I did it, finally. At first my mom wasn’t feeling it, but  basically told her we were going parallel parking. The first few times weren’t so great, but then once I got it, I did it again and again…And that, my friends, is what she said.

My brother, Julian:]

The storm cloud that passed over us.

Today I was feeling a little lazy in the clothing department, so lazy in fact, that I wore one of my tye dye shirts. I’m not lazy because it’s tye dye, I’m lazy because I have yet to set the dye, but I wore it anyway. Ehh, casual Wednesday?

I couldn’t manage to get even a semi-decent picture of myself, so there’s a dumpy shot of me in my lazy wear.

aww, how terribly cute are we?

tye dye done by me[more of a knot dye hah], vneck: Fruit of the Loom

overshirt: Old Navy

shorts: JC Penney

shoes: Walmart

bracelet: free at the Great Blue Heron Music Festival

I’m a savvy shopper. I have no money, it’s all I can be.

Speaking of savvy, I went to the Salvy today. See! One letter off savvy-salvy. Eh? Ehhh?

Not so much to find, especially since I only had 20 minutes to look,  but I figured they just got a new shipment of stuff, so the good stuff should be there for a while.

Look at all those sequins! If only my grandma were into all that glittering glory that is the sequin dress. This scream fabulous grandma haha

You’re never too old for Sit n’ Spin!

Sad story, this jacket was a small…The End.

Sorry, but I had to show you these creepy trinkets I found.

I ended up coming away with two scarves and two pairs of sunglasses.

Coincidentally, both of the sunglasses were mirror lenses.

After I got back home, I made dinner for everyone. I’m not going to lie, tonight was one of the best meals I have ever made. Homemade marinara sauce with pasta, homemade breaded chicken breast [baked], breaded with plain bread crumbs, basil, cayenne, parmesan, and salt and pepper, of course.

Yea, I smothered that in mozzarella…I’m a cheese fiend, sorry!

So I ended the day with a full tummy and a night alone with just my boyfriend and me<3

Oh I forgot to say, I was digging through my mom’s closet, just to see if she had anything worth me stealing and making into something I can wear, but I got distracted when I found this skirt I used to wear. The last time I wore it must have been around 4 years ago! I don’t know what to wear with it yet, but here it is:

It’s so pretty, I can’t believe I forgot about it!

Well, that’s all for now…Later Days.

*I recently recorded a movie off IFC maybe a week or so ago. It was called Starstruck and it was about these two cousins. The younger, Angus was trying to help his older cousin, Jackie become a famous new wave rock star. I loved it. LOVED IT. I don’t know if you should classify it as a musical, there was a lot of singing and very odd dancing, but to lower it to musical status seems unjust. Anyway you look at it, this movie is brilliant. Jackie’s clothing is amazing. The dress she wears in the beginning looks as if Heatherette went back to 1982 and designed it for her. And the boys, oh the boys…Just as handsome as can be. Awkward, lanky, and impecably dressed. Just the way I like them! For proof of that, see my boyfriend haha

Here’s Jackie’s opening song and that dress, gorgeous!
